THE ORTHODOX WORD
...for those who refuse to settle for the imitation.

Our every word must be carefully considered,
for in every word the truth is at stake.

- Fr. Seraphim Rose, co-founder of
The Orthodox Word

Since 1965, the bimonthly magazine THE ORTHODOX WORD has been devoted to presenting the authentic savor of historic Christianity, which has been handed down from apostolic times in an unbroken line and is by nature not of this world (John 8:23).

FEATURES:

Many modern spiritual classics have been compiled from material serialized in The Orthodox Word, including: The Soul After Death, Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future, The Northern Thebaid, Paisius Velichkovsky, and Vita Patrum. Some of these, particularly the works of the late Fr. Seraphim Rose, have now become a sensation in Russia. Known by Orthodox Christians throughout that vast land, they have changed thousands of lives with their sobering truth.

On the vanguard of the contemporary Orthodox mission, The Orthodox Word endeavors to fortify Christians for future troubled times, feeding their souls with real spiritual meat and helping them to distinguish the false from the genuine amid the rapid changes in the secular and ecclesiastical worlds.

On the pulse of the religious awakening in Russia, Romania, and Serbia, The Orthodox Word is publishing priceless spiritual manuscripts which have come to light only after the fall of the Iron Curtain. These manuscripts reflect and transmit the esoteric living tradition of ancient Christianity, hidden from the world at large.
